What We Do

The PPSC has 21 offices spread out over 11 regions across the country, with each region focusing on local needs and priorities. All regional offices work closely with law enforcement agencies within their regions to provide advice and training and strengthen their relations.

Legal professionals enter the organization at all stages of their careers. Whether you are a law student, recent graduate looking for articles, recently called to the bar, litigator (including prosecutors, defence counsel, civil and immigration lawyers), paralegal, or legal assistant, you will gain meaningful trial and court experience while working on many significant and complex cases.

Our case work includes files related to drugs, money laundering, organized crime, tax evasion, terrorism, regulatory and environmental offences, and all Criminal Code offences in the territories. You will have the opportunity to work on emerging Charter issues relating to search and seizure, detention, as well as evidentiary issues like expert evidence, conspiracies and hearsay.

Not a legal professional? No problem. A team of dedicated professionals supports the PPSC in a variety of disciplines, including financial services, human resources, facilities management, administrative support, communications, and information management and technology. Whether you are a student, recent graduate, or an experienced professional, you can find a range of career options within this welcoming work environment.

Every employee has a role to play in creating a work environment where every person can bring their whole self to work and feel valued and empowered to contribute. Being informed and influenced by our diverse employees helps change the heart and conscience of the PPSC. As part of the larger Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (EDIA) governance structure, you can join one of five National Councils for Employees: Persons living with Disabilities, Racialized Persons, Black Persons, Indigenous Peoples, and 2SLGBTQIA+.
